Superstar Rajinikanth-starrer ‘2.0’ is easily the most awaited Indian film ever. Twice after being postponed, the film is currently in its post-production stage and is all set to hit the screens on November 29 this year. The teaser of ‘2.0’ is all set to be unveiled by the makers on September 13. Needless to say, the film has huge expectations among audience. Ahead of its teaser on Friday, we give you some interesting facts about the Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar-starrer.

2  2.0 Superstar Rajinikanth vs Akshay Kumar

A Rajinikanth film needs no promotion. Ever since the commencement of ‘2.0’ in 2016, fans have been madly waiting for its release since it marks Akshay’s first association Rajinikanth & Shankar. Interestingly, the film will see Rajinikanth locking the horns with Akshay, who is rumoured to be playing the role of Dr. Richard. On the other hand, Rajini's will return to screen as Chitti, the Andro-Humanoid Robot. Apart from the visuals, the major highlight is the scenes featuring Rajinikanth - Akshay Kumar. Reports also suggest that Amy Jackson will also be seen as a Robot. In fact, pictures of Amy Jackson along with Rajinikanth went viral on the internet. Rumors say that ‘2.0’ teaser will showcase some breathtaking scenes between Rajini & Akshay.

3. 2.0 Shot completely in 3D format

If reports are everything to go by, ‘2.0’ is supposedly the first Indian film to be shot entirely in 3D technology. Shankar is known for his grand visuals & ‘2.0’ is said to be a breathtaking experience for the spectators. Reportedly, Shankar had roped in some of the noted technicians from Hollywood, who had worked vigorously for the production of the movie. In a press statement released by the makers, ‘2.0’ teaser will be simultaneously released in 2D & 3D formats. Interestingly, the teaser will also be released in select theatres across India and abroad. Going by the hype, ‘2.0’ teaser is expected to set the internet on fire.

4.  2.0 Most expensive Indian film

‘2.0’ is touted to be the most luxurious Indian film ever. Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, the movie is being made on a whopping budget of Rs 500 crore. Prior to this, ‘2.0’ was supposed to be made on Rs 400 crore. Though, the makers increased the budget due to the wide VFX work involved in the project. In fact, ‘2.0’ was supposed to release in January 25 itself. But the release date was subsequently postponed due to pending VFX work. Actually, over 3000 technicians have worked in the film to get the exact output of an Hollywood film. After much delay, the movie is finally gearing up for the release on November 29, 2018.

5. 2.0 Lavish audio launch in Dubai

In November last year, the whole cast and crew of "2.0" flew down to Dubai, where the audio was launched in a grand manner. The pictures of Rajinikanth & Akshay Kumar went viral on the internet. The event also saw a live presentation by AR Rahman, who unveiled two songs ‘Endhira Logathu Sundari’ & ‘Rajaali’. The songs have gotten terrific response from the audience and rightly so. The major highlight of the event was Rajinikanth’s speech, which was established with a thunderous applause by fans. To be released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu, the audio launch was hosted by RJ Balaji, Karan Johar and Rana Daggubati respectively. A bunch of skydivers were snapped hoisting the poster of ‘2.0’ mid-air and the photos did the rounds online.
